My games: favourites and recently played
My games is your personal page: the games you played recently and the games you marked as favourites. It works without an account because the lists are kept by your browser.
Recently played
A game is added to Recently played when you start it with the Play button. The newest is first, and playing a game again moves it back to the top.
The list keeps the last twenty-four games. The front page shows the most recent ones in a row titled "Jump back in".
Favourites
Press Favourite on a game page to save the game. Press it again to remove it. See The game page and player controls.
Favourites are listed newest first. Your browser keeps up to two hundred; My games shows the forty-eight most recently added, and the front page shows the newest in a row titled "Your favourites".
Where the lists are stored
Both lists are saved in your browser's local storage for the site. The site keeps no copy of them: there is no account to attach them to, and they are not part of the site's statistics.
This has practical consequences:
- The lists do not follow you. Another browser, another device or another browser profile each has its own, separate lists.
- The team cannot restore them if they are lost.
One detail is worth knowing. To draw the game cards, your browser asks the site for the details of the games in your lists, and that request names those games. The site uses it only to send back the cards.
A game that the team has retired from the catalog drops out of these lists, although its own page keeps working.
What clears them
- The button on My games. "Clear my games from this device" empties both lists. It asks for a second press to confirm.
- Clearing your browser's stored data for the site, or all browsing data.
- Private or incognito windows. Browsers discard what a private window stored when it is closed.
- Blocked storage. If the browser is set to refuse site storage, the lists simply are not remembered.
Game save data
Progress inside a game is a separate matter from the two lists.
- Each game decides whether it saves. Some games save automatically, some offer a save option, some do not save at all. The game's own instructions usually say.
- Saves stay in your browser. There are no cloud saves and no accounts to attach them to.
- Each game has its own isolated storage. Every game is served from its own web address, a subdomain of the site named after the game. The browser keeps each address's data apart, so one game cannot read another game's saves, and no game can read your favourites or recently played list.
Because saves belong to the game's own address, a few things work differently from the lists above:
- The "Clear my games from this device" button does not touch game saves.
- To delete a game's saves, use the game's own reset option if it has one, or clear the stored data for that game's address in your browser settings.
- Clearing all browsing data removes saves along with everything else.
The Restart button under a game reloads the game. It does not erase what the game has already saved.
Not available
There is no way to sync favourites, history or saves between devices, and no export. Syncing would need accounts, which the site does not have.
See the privacy page for the full statement of what the site collects and what stays on your device.
